Mina Ekstrom

Mina Ekstrom was born in New York City in 2002 and has lived there nearly all her life. Ekstrom’s interest in photography began during her sophomore year of high school when she began taking black-and-white darkroom classes at the International Center of Photography. Ekstrom takes her camera with her to document her travels and is interested in documenting nature that is typically unseen and untouched. She continues to document natural places, as they feel more familiar and comforting then the city. Ekstrom will graduate from Eleanor Roosevelt High School in 2020. In 2019, she won a Scholastic Silver Key and an honorable mention.
